On February 4th Christine had a calaneal osteotomy, gastrocnemus lengthening, and a posterior tibial tendon transfer on the right foot. Remarkably, this was outpatient surgery.
More than 7 months later, after 4 kinds of pain killers, 2 casts, a walking boot, a pair of crutches, a cane, an ankle brace, bottles of ibuprofen and countless ice packs, and 14 weeks of physical therapy....she can walk with a limp. Okay so it’s a work in progress but really, it’s a whole new foot!
